Web Hosting with AntiVirus and AntiPhishing Filter
All of our web hosting plans include Antivirus and Antiphishing software installed by default on every domain’s email accounts and every mailbox on Bioxnet servers.
This provides greater security when receiving malicious emails. If an email with a detected virus is received, it is simply deleted and a notification of the virus or phishing attempt is sent to us.
What is Phishing?
It is the term coined for fraudulent schemes used to obtain internet users’ personal and banking information by impersonating banks or well-known credit institutions. The scammer sends emails linking to sites that closely resemble banking or payment portals, asking the customer to log in with their username and password to “update” their information. When the user enters their credentials, they are stored in databases for identity theft or some other fraud scheme.
Examples: bank websites, payment sites like PayPal, etc.
It occurs through email and instant messaging.
Tips:
- Do not trust emails claiming to be from banks.
- Always type the bank’s address yourself and never use one provided by an email or a page (links or banners).
- Use a web hosting service with an antivirus filter and an antispam filter
- Verify the identity of the sender (read this article: How to spot a fake email )
